The Alphabetum consists of a series of 26 letters that combine digital, analog, and experimental strategies, working with improvisational modes of visual inquiry. I utilize the camera as an exploratory tool to engage my imagination and critically examine a repertoire of found objects and materials. I investigate typography through objects with transparent, reflective, and porous qualities, which serve as agents to modulate and activate color, pattern, texture, light, shadow, and movement in front of the camera. Throughout the process, I am struck by how effortlessly typographic forms shift into new realms of interpretative possibilities.
